Three Baseball Teams to have New Coaches

Three of the four varsity baseball teams in Door County will have new head coaches this spring.

In addition to a search now underway for a new head coach at Southern Door, where Dave Neinas resigned earlier this month, new coaches have been hired at Sturgeon Bay and Sevastopol.

Neal Henrigillis, who previously was the head baseball coach at Peshtigo before becoming a social studies teacher at Sturgeon Bay, is replacing Mike Propsom as the Clippers’ head baseball coach.

At Sevastopol, Jim Smasal, who now lives in Door County after retiring as Kewaskum’s school superintendent and has a background in being a coach and athletic director, is replacing Tom Ash as the head baseball coach.

Jay Kita is returning this spring as the head baseball coach for Gibraltar/Washington Island, which won a WIAA Division 4 regional championship last season.
