Three Upcoming Performances at Woodwalk in Door County

Chris Irwin

The Woodwalk Gallery & Events Barn in Egg Harbor will host three special performances in the coming weeks as part of the Woodwalk Concert Series.

Anne Hills and Michael Smith take the stage Friday, Aug. 19. Hill’s stunning soprano tone has made her one of folk’s premier vocalists, while the songwriting and musicianship of Smith has earned accolades far and wide. The duo have recorded the album Paradise Lost and Found.

On Aug. 26, Chris Irwin and Friends return to the Woodwalk for a country and bluegrass show featuring Irwin’s original work and favorite folk tunes. The American Folklore Theatre veteran mixes a bit of southern hospitality with his wonderful voice and skilled guitar playing.

Finally in September, six well-known Door County musicians have come together to celebrate Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday with four nights of Dylan’s music Sept. 1, 2, 3 and 9 in a performance deemed Buckets of Rain. Tommy Burroughs, Katie Dahl, Rich Higdon, Jeanne Kuhns, Eric Lewis and Patrick Palmer have each chosen a selection of their favorite Dylan songs to perform, backing each other with fine vocals, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, harmonica, washboard and other percussion instruments and bass.

The Buckets of Rain production is sponsored by the Door County Land Trust, J Jeffrey Taylor Jewelers and Novel Ideas. There will be a special art installation by Skye adorning the stage.

All shows start at 7 pm, tickets are $15 at the door. Visitors are welcome to bring wine and food to picnic on the back terrace starting at 5:30 pm. Beer, soft drinks and ice cream are for sale.
