Three Weeks Left of Sturgeon Bay Bridge Detour

• If you’ve been frustrated by the Sturgeon Bay detours during the Bayview Bridge repair project, hang on because there are only three weeks left of detouring through the city. “We’re still currently on schedule and we’re still planning to have it open before the 4th of July,” Jim Thompson, project supervisor with the Northeast Region of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, said at last week’s meeting on Highway 42 reconstruction in Sister Bay (see story on page X). “There haven’t been any hiccups yet. We’ve been working on keeping it moving forward.” The 35-year-old Bayview Bridge was closed in March to undergo $4.8 million worth of repairs, including structural steel repair, bridge painting, electrical and machinery system upgrades, and an overlay of the bridge deck and approaches.

• The Egg Harbor Fun Park withdrew its application for a helicopter landing pad. The public hearing originally scheduled for June 11 has been cancelled.

• The Ephraim Village Board will discuss village fire numbers at its next meeting on June 11 at 7 pm.
