Thrills and Chills Brings Spooky Fun to Sturgeon Bay

Thrills on Third was the Halloween party that was too large to be contained on one street, so this year the festivities have been reborn as Thrills & Chills and are spreading to all of Sturgeon Bay’s downtown waterfront districts.

The fun will begin Oct. 30, 10 am, when the kids’ costume parade will head from 3rd Avenue to Martin Park. Then, little ghosties and ghoulies will descend upon East and West Waterfront businesses for trick-or-treating until 1 pm. Participating businesses will have a special sticker in their window.

The Boys and Girls Club of Door County, 55 S. 3rd Ave., will host the Grills & Thrills Cookout fundraiser and haunted house until 1 pm, and the Sturgeon Bay branch of the Door County Library, 107 S. 4th Ave., will give away goodie bags in its lobby.

Bay Shore Outfitters, 59 N. Madison Ave., will be hosting its first pumpkin-carving party, 11 am – 4 pm, on its patio. Caplan Studios Photography invites dogs – dressed in a costume – and their humans to a Spooky Pooch Portraits fundraiser at ARTicipation Studio, 10 E. Oak St., 11 am – 2 pm. Salty Seagull Mini Golf, 630 Grant Ave., is hosting a costume contest Oct. 30 and 31, 10 am – 8 pm.And, for the second year, Sturgeon Bay will host its Spooky Scavenger Hunt. Pick up a scavenger-hunt map at the Destination Sturgeon Bay Welcome Center, 36 S. 3rd Ave., and return it to the welcome center by Nov. 5 for a chance to win a prize.
