Thrills & Chills in Sturgeon Bay

Be in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, Oct. 29, for Thrills & Chills! The kid-friendly, Halloween-themed fun includes activities held throughout the walkable East and West Waterfronts in the historic downtown area.

The kids’ costume parade will kick things off at 10 am. To participate, kids and families should meet at the 3rd Avenue clock tower around 9:45 am. The Sturgeon Bay Fire Department will then lead the parade from the clock tower down 3rd Avenue and finish at Martin Park. Prizes will be given for the best costumes.

Trick-or-treating along the East and West Waterfront will start after the parade ends and go until 1 pm. Participating businesses will have a Thrills & Chills window decal.

The Boys & Girls Club of Door County will host its haunted house and Grills for Thrills fundraiser, so stop by for burgers, hot dogs, drinks and more. Funds help to support Boys & Girls Club programming and youth activities in Door County.

The Sturgeon Bay Library will offer a variety of Halloween crafts and movies for kids, 11 am – 3 pm. And new this year will be the West Side Spooky Celebration, 11 am – 3 pm, when Madison Avenue will be closed from Oak Street to Maple Street so that businesses, seasonal vendors and food vendors can line the street.

Get into the Halloween spirit with pumpkin carving at Bay Shore Outfitters, 11 am – 4 pm, and head over to Kitty O’Reilly’s for a kids’ costume dance party, 1-3 pm.

The Spook-tacular Sturgeon Bay Scavenger Hunt is also back again this year. Stop by the Destination Sturgeon Bay welcome center, 36 S. 3rd Ave., to pick up a scavenger hunt map until Oct. 31. Once you’ve visited all the stops, drop off your map for a chance to win a special Sturgeon Bay prize. Thrills & Chills is presented by Destination Sturgeon Bay with Quantum PC. Learn more at
