Watch out for spooky characters during the 7th annual Thrills on Third event on historic Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, Oct. 27. The fun-filled day begins at 9 am where there are plenty of family-friendly activities.
Head over to the Boys and Girls Club of Door County from 9-11 am for a free pumpkin painting activity, on a first-come, first-served basis. The decorated pumpkins will be placed along the parade route until 3 pm. The Boys and Girls Club also features their spine-chilling haunted house from 10 am to 1 pm. They will also sell food and refreshments starting at 11 am. Don’t forget to get hands dirty in an ooey gooey slime making session at the Door County Library from 9 am to 12 pm.
Parade participants should gather at Martin Park at 12:45 pm for costume judging. The costume parade is open to all, including pets. Floats are not permitted. At 1 pm, all participants march down Third Avenue to Community Foundation Square for first, second and third place best costumes, awarded by Miss Door County’s Outstanding Teen. A prize for the best pet costume is also awarded. Trick-or-treating is available along Third Avenue until 3 pm.
