Tickets on Sale for Birch Creek Season

Tickets for the Birch Creek Music Performance Center’s 2019 summer concert season are now available for purchase.

The Percussion and Steel Band session will open the season on June 20 with Beginnings: A Celebration of Music, and six more concerts will follow, June 21-29, showcasing percussion and steel-band performances by faculty and students under program director Dan Moore.

Symphony session concerts, under program director Ricardo Castañeda and conductor Brian Groner, will be presented July 3-6 and July 11-13. The orchestra will perform works by Beethoven, Dvorák and Poulenc, among many others, and the Peter Nehlsen double-keyboard piano will make its Birch Creek debut.

Birch Creek’s annual Independence Day concert, Proud Americans, on July 4, 4 pm, will include a pie-and-ice-cream social before the concert.

Big Band Jazz concerts will be performed during two sessions: July 17-20 and July 24-27; and July 31-Aug. 3 and Aug. 7-10. Program director Jeff Campbell and the Birch Creek Academy Jazz Orchestra will return for 16 nights of the most authentic big-band jazz in Door County. Students will be featured in pre-show combo performances and big-band numbers as well.

Summer concerts begin at 7:30 pm, with pre-show music at 7 pm unless otherwise noted. Ticket prices are $29 per adult, $10 per student and $6 per child, with premium seating available for $34 per ticket. Group rates available for parties of 15 or more.
