Tickets on Sale for Door County Lighthouse Festival

Tickets are now on sale to the general public for the 21st annual Door County Lighthouse Festival. This year’s event is June 13 to 15, with a weekend filled with special land-based tours and boat excursions.

Two different daylong, land-based tours, visit the five mainland lights and depart from either the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay or Orchard Country Winery in Fish Creek. A special Ghost/Mystery tour leaves from the Maritime Museum on Friday and Saturday evenings.

As for the boat trips, the daylong Island Clipper tour on Saturday will take visitors across Death’s Door into Michigan waters. Tour passes Poverty Island and St. Martin Islands with a stop at Rock Island State Park and a hike to Potawatomi Lighthouse. Also, the popular excursion from Gills Rock to Plum Island returns with four tours spread over Saturday and Sunday with limited seating available.

Other tours include excursions to: Chambers Island; Plum and Pilot Islands; Baileys Harbor shipwrecks and Cana Island; Rock Island and the Pottawatomie Lighthouse.

The Sturgeon Bay Fireboat will offer its regular daily tours from the Maritime Museum as well as a new special evening sunset dessert cruise both Friday and Saturday evening.

Cana Island and Eagle Bluff Lighthouses will maintain regular seasonal hours throughout the weekend. Both the Sherwood Point Lighthouse and Sturgeon Bay Canal Light are operated by the U.S. Coast Guard and offer free admission over the weekend. The range lights in The Ridges Sanctuary in Baileys Harbor will welcome visitors Friday between 10 am – 2 pm for a free will offering.
