On May 15 at 2 pm William Tishler will give the first presentation of 2010 for the Baileys Harbor Historical Society on the Frogtown Art Colony in Baileys Harbor, the subject of his next book, at Baileys Harbor Town Hall. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
Tishler is a Baileys Harbor native and professor emeritus of landscape architecture at the University of Wisconsin Madison. An award winning author, he developed the master plan for Old World Wisconsin and has served as chair of the Wisconsin Historic Preservation Review Board. He grew up in ‘downtown’ Baileys Harbor and brings an insiders view to the unique culture of the Frogtown Art Colony.
Historic displays featuring a grotto builder, cigar maker and vintage artifacts found in a historic Baileys Harbor home will be on display. Information about future projects and events will also be presented.
