Todd’s Tip

Distance from end of club at address

The distance from the ball varies according to the clubs length; however, the distance from the butt end of the club to the body should remain constant. Proper posture should see the arms hanging in a relaxed manner from the shoulders, positioning the clubs butt-end approximately one hand-width from the body. To check this at address, simply remove the right hand from the club and allow the right arm to hang from the shoulders. If you are the proper distance from the clubs butt-end the right hand will swing back into place-matched to the left hand. If you are to close, the right hand will return above the grip. If you stand further away the right hand will return below the grip.
