Join the Climate Change Coalition of Door County on Aug. 27, 10 am – 12 pm, for Toft Point: A Nature Lover’s Dream – the second of two guided hikes through this old-growth forest in Baileys Harbor. Charlotte Lukes and Nick Anderson will lead the hike and share their deep knowledge of the forest and Toft Point’s exceptional plant communities.
Lukes and her late husband, naturalist Roy Lukes, founded the Friends of Toft Point. She was on its founding board of directors and has been a trail docent for many years. Anderson, a passionate defender of Toft Point and a life member of the Friends, is also a longtime trail docent.
The hike – a fundraiser for the Climate Change Coalition of Door County – will conclude with a picnic lunch. The cost is $50 per person. The hike is limited to 15 people. To register, call 715.330.4660 or email [email protected] Hikers will meet at 9:45 am at The Ridges Beach parking lot, 2301 Ridges Road in Baileys Harbor.
