Tom Groenfeldt Photography at Hope Church Gallery

The Hope Church Art Alcoves Gallery announces the opening of the exhibit Works of Tom Groenfeldt, with a reception on July 7, 5:15-6:30 pm. The exhibit will be on display through the third week of August.

Like many, Groenfeldt has been coming to Door County his entire life but unlike many, he took the opportunity to move here from New Jersey about six years ago when he took up residence at his family’s house in the Town of Sturgeon Bay, on Lily Bay, and married Keli Izyk. Groenfeldt studied photography criticism at the International Center of Photography in New York and interviewed its founder, Cornell Capa, for The Bergen Record. He also reviewed photography shows in New York and New Jersey and for several years covered photography at Art Basel Miami Beach for blouinartinfo.com. He has had one-man shows at William Paterson University and the Nabisco Gallery in New Jersey, at Base Camp in Sister Bay, Door Peninsula Winery in Carlsville, GLAS in Sheboygan, TAP in Sturgeon Bay and has been included in group shows at the Witkin Gallery in New York, the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, and the Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek.

Hope Church Art Alcoves Gallery is open 9 am – 1 pm Monday through Friday, as well as before and after the 10:30 am worship service on Sunday. Hope Church is located at 141 S. 12th Ave in Sturgeon Bay.
