Torch Run Supports Special Olympics

Kewaunee County law-enforcement officers and family members took part in a Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics on July 31. Participants rode the Ahnapee State Trail, beginning at Blahnik Heritage Park; stopped at Reckelberg Park, where Special Olympians handed out water and snacks; and finished at Bruemmer Park and Zoo with lunch with Special Olympians and a cornhole tournament.

This local event replaced the State Torch Run – which was postponed this year because of COVID-19 restrictions – to show continuing support for Special Olympics. Past State Torch Runs have had officers ride from Oneida to Stevens Point for the annual Special Olympics Summer Games.
