The public is invited to attend the second of four in-construction open houses at a LEED-registered home at 10204 Kinsey Bay Lane in Sister Bay, from 10 am to 2 pm, on Sept. 10. This is an educational open house, to illustrate LEED requirements and methods for constructing highly energy-efficient buildings. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and is a program of the U.S. Green Building Council.
The home is designed by Virge Temme, a recognized leader in green architecture in the Midwest, and is being built by Ahnapee Construction of Algoma.
There is no charge for attending, but free-will donations for the Climate Change Coalition of Door County will be accepted and appreciated.
