Town of Sturgeon Bay Supports Citizens United Amendment

On Sept. 4, the Town Of Sturgeon Bay unanimously passed a resolution asking the Door County Board of Supervisors and local, state and Congressional representatives to support a non-binding statewide referendum. The referendum bill was introduced this spring into both the state Assembly and Senate, but has not been allowed to the Legislative floor for debate. The referendum calls on Wisconsin to join 19 other states in petitioning for a Constitutional Amendment to overturn two critical points of the Citizens United court ruling (2010) and again allow Congress and states to put some limits on Super-PAC campaign financing donations.
