Trail Trot Returns to Southern Door

A tradition is returning Saturday, April 22, 10 am, when Southern Door People Involved in Education (PIE) will present the Southern Door Trail Trot Run/Walk. It’s sponsored by Door County Medical Center and the Southern Door Business Association, and all proceeds will go to the Southern Door Elementary/Middle School PIE group to benefit students.

This two-mile run/walk will take place on the beautiful, 120-acre Southern Door School campus, and primarily on the compact gravel, wood chips and grass of the campus’s woods and grass fields. Strollers are welcome, but one turn may be difficult to run through with a stroller.

This run/walk is a great event for those who want a strong start to their competitive running season; it’s a fun, family-friendly environment for those who just want to celebrate the spring and summer seasons; and it’s also the kickoff event for the 2023 Run the Door point series throughout Door County.

Awards are available for the following categories for both male and female registrants: Top three for ages 10 and younger, 10-14, 15-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-plus.

The cost is $20 for runners 18 and older, $10 for ages 13-17, $5 for ages 4-12, and free for those who are 3 and younger. Online registration will continue through April 20, and on-site registration will be offered 8-9:30 am on race day.
