Transportation Groups Receive Funds to Increase Vaccination Access

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Administration for Community Living have awarded $1,000 each to Door-Tran and Door County Connect-Public Transit – which provides services through Door 2 Door Rides, Door County Connect and the Connector Link – to increase access to COVID-19 vaccinations. Both organizations have been offering free transportation to the vaccinations.

“We know there are people who struggle with transportation barriers, and we want to help advance transportation equity to our most vulnerable population,” said Nikki Voight, Door-Tran’s executive director.

Door-Tran (door-tran.org) seeks to ensure a self-sustaining, community-driven, affordable and accessible transportation system for the community. With the vision of becoming a central hub, Door-Tran will work with a network of service providers to decrease transportation barriers and increase efficiencies
