Traveling Shakespeare

On August 6, join Door Shakespeare as they welcome the Shakespeare on the Road team to Door County.

This collaborative project is touring various classical theatre companies and festivals in North America over the course of this summer in order to take the pulse of how Shakespeare is performed today. Shakespeare on the Road—a team made up of researchers from the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, the University of Warwick, and Misfit, Inc.—will be touring our facilities, interviewing volunteers, audience members, performers, and viewing a performance of King Lear in the Garden at Björklunden in Baileys Harbor.

Tickets are still available for that performance of King Lear on August 6 at 8 pm, which will be preceded by a special presentation and discussion by the Shakespeare on the Road team.

If you would like to learn more about Shakespeare on the Road or follow along with their travels, visit shakespeareontheroad.com or follow them on Twitter (@bardintheusa).

Tickets to Wednesday’s performance of King Lear are $27 for adults, $17 students, and $7 ages 12 and younger. For tickets or more information, call 920.839.1500 or visit doorshakespeare.com.
