“Treasures & Travels” Opens at Cottage Row Framing & Gallery in Fish Creek

The third and final exhibit in Cottage Row Framing & Gallery’s summer exhibit schedule, “Treasures & Travels,” will feature watercolorist Bridget Austin in a special “meet the artist” event that will unveil more than 30 original paintings. The public event will be held on Saturday, July 31 from 10 am – 1 pm.

The exhibit will feature a new body of work encompassing a year of travel and a collection of favorites inspired by Door County. “There will be ‘plein air’ paintings I did in France, many of an architectural nature,” said Austin. “Also included are paintings from trips to Ireland and Alaska.” Paintings, reproductions, and note cards by Austin will be available for purchase at the exhibit.

Austin has exhibited in national juried shows including the American and National Watercolor Societies. A member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society, she has earned the honor of Master Status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and has served on its board of directors.

Austin’s paintings are included in private and public collections worldwide. Her work has been featured in Creative Watercolor, Searching for the Artist Within, and Celebrating Door County’s Wild Places.
