Tret Fure Performs at the Ladder House

On Friday, August 15 at 8 pm, Tret Fure will take the stage at the Ladder House music room in Sturgeon Bay for an evening candle light concert.

Tret Fure’s career spans four decades, as she began her professional work at the age of 16. Singing in coffeehouses and campuses in the Midwest, and then moving to Berkeley where she performed weekly on the campus of UC-Berkeley while attending college, she discovered that music really was her life.

At 19, she moved to LA to pursue a songwriting and musical career, achieving much success in the mainstream music industry before taking a step back in the early ‘80s. A fierce desire to retain full artistic control eventually led Fure to develop her own label, Tomboy Girl Records.

Beyond releasing 11 recordings since the mid ‘70s, Fure also markets her own line of clothing named after her popular song “Tomboy Girl.” In addition, she has produced a series called Music & Comedy in Madison and has co-hosted the successful festival, Tomboy Girl Fest. An accomplished cook, Fure has also published a cookbook, Tret’s Kitchen, featuring her own recipes.

Along with bridging the marketing, production and music worlds, Tret serves as Vice President on the executive board of the Local 1,000 Traveling Musicians Association – a union geared toward helping traveling musicians find security and longevity.

All tickets for this non-smoking venue are $10. A concert menu will be offered with specialty beer, wine and full bar. For more information please call 920.493.5979.
