Trio of Poets at October Reading

Write On, Door County presents visiting poet Marianne Boruch in a reading with Green Bay poet Annette Langlois Grunseth, and Estella Lauter, former Poet Laureate of Door County, on Oct. 29, 7 pm, at Novel Bay Booksellers, Sturgeon Bay. The reading is free and open to all ages. Light refreshments are served.

Poet and essayist Boruch is the author of numerous collections of poetry. In an interview with Brooke Horvath for the Denver Quarterly, Boruch said, “Both poetry and the essay come from the same impulse — to think about something and at the same time, see it closely, carefully, and enact it.”

Grunseth is retired from a career in healthcare public relations and marketing. She has published poems in journals and anthologies. Her chapbook, Becoming Trans-Parent: One Family’s Journey of Gender Transition was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and Society of Midland Authors Poetry Prize. Her poetry has won awards with Wisconsin Academy Review, Wisconsin People and Ideas and the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets (WFOP).

Since her retirement from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh as Chair of the English Department, Lauter has published four chapbooks with Finishing Line Press. Her poems have won awards from WFOP, the Wisconsin Writers Association, Fox Cry Review and the Peninsula Pulse. She was appointed Poet Laureate of Door County for 2013-2015, during which time she founded the Door County Poets Collective.
