Trolley Celebrates 10 Years

• Door County Trolley, Inc. is celebrating 10 years in Door County tourism on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Guests who purchase trolley ride tickets on July 10 will receive complimentary brats and hot dogs, as well as the opportunity to win trolley gift certificates.

Orchard Country Winery and Market is commemorating this special occasion with the release of a Door County Trolley wine and live music from Ben There Dan That on the patio from 4 – 7 pm.

Door County Trolley, Inc., launched in May 2000 with one themed tour, has since added a repertoire of tours that feature various Door County attractions. Rides include a lighthouse tour, scenic tour, premier wine tour, progressive dinner outing, a winter wonderland tour, and various ghost tours, as well as private charter tours and wedding rentals. A fleet of eight trolleys drives guests to their destinations.

• Bob Kuehn and Polly Kuehn, owners of Bay Property Services of Door County LLC, hosted their second annual “Board Members’ Forum” on June 18 in Fish Creek. The forum, open to all board members Bay Property Services works with, was designed to educate attendees on current issues affecting the community associations that they govern.

Four speakers presented at this year’s forum. Roger Hoover, Association sales rep for Charter Communications explained services and savings available to owners. Michael Goldstone, Fire Inspector for Liberty Grove Fire Department, spoke on the carbon monoxide detector law that applies to multiple unit housing associations. Jeff Pfeifer of Thomas/Pfeifer Insurance Agency in Sister Bay spoke on major claim types in community associations and ways to prevent them.

The main speaker was Attorney James Smith of Pinkert Law Firm in Sturgeon Bay. Attorney Smith explained delinquencies, filing liens and foreclosures, as well as answered questions from the attendees.

For over 18 years, Bay Property Services has offered administrative, accounting, and management services to community associations in Door County. • Double Delites in Egg Harbor, celebrating their 5th season, is happy to offer new items. Their new freshly made individual 9” pizzas, cheese, pepperoni, and/or sausage, are quickly becoming a favorite. The pizzas feature Del Fratelli pizza sauce and are served in 5 minutes.

Double Delites signature Cherry Bomb popcorn (caramel corn drizzled with Ghirardelli chocolate, roasted nuts, and pastel chocolate cherries) makes a tasty gift. Another new flavor, Sweet and Salty is for those who are looking for kettle corn.

Double Delites also features the work of Sherry Finley, a hand sculpted wire artist who creates original pieces using gold, silver, and copper wires along with gemstones.

Double Delites has also come up with a new gelato flavor: Pear Kiwi. Stop by the shop to sample the gelato ice cream, taste the popcorn, or simply take in the smells of all the products being freshly made.

On Sunday evenings, Double Delites will serve popcorn, gelato, and frosted cinnamon almonds at the Peg Egan Sunset concerts beginning at 7 pm.
