Trust Is Like Innocence

Trust is like innocence;
once lost, it’s almost impossible to gain back.
What was at one point capable of mending the most unstable bridges
and bringing light to the darkest times,
now holds the power to crush the entire world,
like a hurricane does to a city.

Families torn.
Left with nothing.
Devastating effects.

One must start
back on the ground
only hoping the beauty
that was once there can be rebuilt.
But there are no promises.
Cities can be abandoned and forgotten, and so can friendships.
