Turn Straw into Gold

Norbert Blei

The Clearing Folk School announces Norbert Blei, essayist, novelist, poet, painter and journalist, will teach a one-day writing class on September 14 from 9 am to 4 pm. The instructor change for this Rumplestilskin Writing class provides writers a chance to utilize their experiences and memories creating richer, more evocative essays, articles, fiction, poetry and art, by turning straw into gold.

Additional Clearing Workshop Program day class offerings include writing with Wisconsin author Jerry Apps and Wisconsin’s first poet laureate Ellen Kort, deciphering geologic history of the Niagara Escarpment, painting with acrylic or watercolor, fine-tuning photography and iPhoneography skills, “painting” landscapes with fabric, playing with the paper arts, enhancing free-motion quilting skills, learning gilding techniques in acrylic painting, and gardening with nationally syndicated television and radio gardening expert, Melinda Myers. There are 33 classes offered in the fall and summer Clearing Workshop Programs.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
