“Two and a Half Belgians” at SDCA

On Jan. 10 at 7 pm and Jan. 11 at 2 pm, the Southern Door Community Auditorium (SDCA) will present Let Me Be Frank Production’s new musical Two and a Half Belgians.

The story takes place at the Frosty Tip in Dyckesville, just north of Green Bay. The Frosty Tip is run by the Pankratz family, a family of nine boys. The nine boys were called by the number and order of their births; so, the boys’ names were One through Nine. Let Me Be Frank Productions takes liberties with this numerical situation, that’s where two and a half comes in. The second oldest is a large boy and his parents called him Two-and-a-Half, because calling him Two would do disservice to his size.

The musical takes place in the summer of ‘68. The boys are hoping for some of the female persuasion to make a stop at the Frosty Tip. Amy Wrigley, Lisa Halas and Kasey McCaskey stop by in their custom ‘57 Chevy for a little grub before heading to Fish Creek. Two-and-a-Half is smitten with one of the girls and is hoping for a rendezvous at Peninsula State Park.

The show stars Pat Hibbard, Frank Hermans, Tom Verbrick, David Gusloff, Amy Riemer, Lisa Borley and Kasey Corrado. The band consists of Dennis Panneck, Tony Pilz and Adam Cain.

General seating tickets are $22 for adults and $17 for seniors/children. In collaboration with the Southern Door Business Association, the SDCA invites the public to join them for “Sample Southern Door” before the Two and a Half Belgians show on Jan. 10.
