Two October ‘treats’ at Novel Ideas Bookstore

Novel Ideas Bookstore in Baileys Harbor is treating patrons to two great author events this October.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, meet Trygvie Jensen at 11 am when he will be signing his brand new book, Through Waves and Gales Come Fishermen’s Tales. A former resident of Washington Island whose family dates back many generations, Jensen published his first book a few years ago titled Wooden Boats and Iron Men.

Jensen’s new book is about the fishermen and their families who shared their stories of the many challenges and hardships they have endured over the last 70 years. Accounts and reflections of harrowing stories while caught in violent storms and ice shifts, along with strange occurrences and humorous stories, will captivate the reader’s attention and provide insight into a day in the life of a commercial fisherman trying to make a living.

Then, on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 2 pm, author and artist Judie Stang will sign and discuss her first book Lasting Impressions of Door County, An Artist’s Meditations. This book includes original paintings of Door County, Bible verses, short meditations and prayer. Stang grew up in Wisconsin and has recently retired from a career in art education. She has exhibited in galleries in the Midwest and participates in art shows in several states.

Both events are free and open to the public. Novel Ideas is located at 8085 Hwy 57 in downtown Baileys Harbor.
