Two Plein Painters

Jason Sacran was awarded Best of Show for this year’s Door County Plein Air Festival.

Bay Art Gallery is proud to announce two of their exhibiting artists were recognized during the 2014 Door County Plein Air Festival. Jason Sacran of Arkansas was awarded Best of Show, and Jason Prigge of Wisconsin was featured as the People’s Choice Award winner.

Sacran and Prigge’s winning pieces are currently on exhibit at the Peninsula School of Art through August 18. If still available for sale, the works will move to Bay Art Gallery where the two artists are currently exhibiting other works.

Bay Art Gallery is Sister Bay’s newest art gallery, and will be open year round. The gallery showcases the work of local and national artists in Sister Bay Trading Co. Media available include watercolor, bronze sculpture, photography, glasswork, wrought iron, pastels, oils and acrylics. Current exhibiting artists are: Jeff Benson, Rick Brawner, Keith Clayton, Robert F. Comstock, Jr., Martha Coaty, Pam Eagan, Roxanne Hanney, Elizabeth Heller, James Hempel, Ron Larimore, John P. Lasater IV, William Marvin, Denny Moutray, Audrey Off, Sheila O’Gara, Jason Prigge, Randall Rasmussen, Jason Sacran, Nancy Sargent, Annette Schuh and Len Villano.

“We’re looking forward to getting the community more involved in fine art,” says owner Marilyn Jensen. “We’ll be hosting classes with featured artists, and have invited artists to work onsite, so you can see the work develop and take shape.” Events will continue throughout the year at Bay Art Gallery in Sister Bay.
