Ugly Christmas Sweater Party with Big Mouth

Celebrate the season with Big Mouth & The Power Tool Horns at Door Community Auditorium’s (DCA) first Ugly Christmas Sweater Party on Thursday, Dec. 22, 7 pm. Big Mouth will be joined by special guest Janet Planet, an internationally touring jazz vocalist.

Nothing says Christmas like a campy outfit and the finest mix of blues, jazz, and rock this side of Green Bay. Forty years after guitarist Jay Whitney founded the band in Michigan, Big Mouth is still going strong and is known throughout Wisconsin for its eclectic and dance-worthy mix.

The concert will also feature DCA’s Funniest Holiday Story Competition and an Ugliest Christmas Sweater Competition. The sweater contest will be held before the show, at 6 pm, and cash prizes will be awarded at intermission. The ugliest sweater will win a $220 prize, and the people’s choice, group and youth winners will each win $22.

Storytellers of all ages are invited to share their funniest holiday story by emailing written, video or audio submissions by Dec. 16 to [email protected]. Audio or video recordings should be fewer than five minutes long, and written submissions should be no longer than 750 words. The top story will win a $220 prize, and its author will be invited to read the story prior to the Dec. 22 concert. Both contests are free to enter.
