Uncork Summer a Savory Success

With strips of little yellow tickets in hand, we ventured onto the grassy grounds of Ellison Bay’s new event, Uncork Summer, held in conjunction with Olde Ellison Bay Days. Music by Small Forest complemented the festive air, the bright sunshine filtering through green leaves. The enticing scent of tasty food – pork belly corn dogs, paella, and crab crakes – sent us in a few laps around the grounds, where we passed young and old with plastic cups overflowing with craft beer and colorful cocktails. Where does one begin?

We split up.

Then reconvene. We taste one another’s generous “small” plate portions. We sip beer and wine, while Death Folk takes the stage. We watch little children play with baby goats. We visit with friends, acquaintances and strangers and say over and over, “What a beautiful day! What a great event! Where did you get that dish? Can I have a bite?”

We decide this is a fantastic event, the perfect complement to Olde Ellison Bays, and we’ll be back next year.
