Uncork Summer at Olde Ellison Bay Days

The theme of this year’s annual Olde Ellison Bay Days festival is Uncork Summer, the Door Peninsula’s first countywide food and wine tasting venue taking place on the grounds of Wickman House.

According to Kim Shumway, president of the Ellison Bay Service Club, founding sponsor of Olde Ellison Bay Days festival, the exclusive Uncork Summer attraction not only provides an appropriate theme for the festival, but also a perfect complement to traditional festival attractions at Ellison Bay’s Community Park nearby.

As it has been for the past 48 years, the Olde Ellison Bay Days festival will take place on and around the last weekend of June. It will get off to an appropriately historical start on Thursday evening, June 26, with Door County’s original fish boil at the Viking Grill in Ellison Bay. The festival will feature all the usual favorites: a parade, children’s activities, art demonstrations, and more.

The Uncork Summer venue, open from 10 am through 5 pm on Saturday, will offer small-plate, gourmet dishes from restaurants throughout Door County, as well as samplings from local markets, wineries and distilleries. Well-known local acoustic musicians, including Katie Dahl, Small Forest and Death Folk, will perform live throughout the day.

There is no admission fee to attend Uncork Summer. Tickets for individual small plate dishes and drinks are $5 each. For more information visit uncorksummer.com.
