Understanding Mental Illness is Next CHIP Topic

Northern Door Health & Wellness Ministry continues its Community Health Information Programs with “In Our Own Voice” on Sept. 29 at 4 pm at Sister Bay Baptist Church. The focus of the presentation will be to increase awareness and understanding of mental illness.

Just as physical problems can be addressed and managed, treatment is available for people with mental health diagnoses to lead fulfilled and productive lives. Seth Wiederander and David Swender, from NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness), will present their personal histories of living with a mental health diagnosis.

The Ministry also offers free blood pressure screenings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at St. Rosalia’s Church at 5 pm. For more information visit
