United Way Accepting Applications for Grants

The United Way of Door County is now accepting applications to grant funds. They are opening up their annual Community Investment process to any nonprofit organization that meets the needs of people in Door County and strengthens the United Way’s mission of “empowering people to build better lives.”

Applications are due before noon on April 30, 2015. During May and June, applicants will meet with the volunteers who are on the Community Investment Committee to review their application. The amounts granted by this committee will then establish the amount of money United Way will need to raise during its 2015 Campaign. The programs that are awarded grants will then receive their funds in monthly installments in 2016.

The basic criteria to apply to United Way of Door County to receive funding in 2016 are: qualified as a 501(c)3 agency, governed by a volunteer board of directors, be free of policies or practices that unfairly discriminate against individuals, be fiscally responsible, and be able to demonstrate measurable outcomes. Application forms are available by calling 920.746.9645.
