With all proceeds and pledges from the United Way of Door County 2016 campaign counted, the final tally is $477,784.63. The total represents a $33,237.26 increase over 2015 and is within $7,000 of the highest ever raised by a United Way of Door County annual campaign.
“We are so grateful to the over 1,000 people who gave what they can to help our neighbors who benefit from the 31 programs this campaign supports at 18 worthy nonprofits,” said Amy Kohnle, executive director of the United Way of Door County. “Although the total is 91 percent of the very real need of $525,000, this can only be described as a successful campaign.”
Volunteers will be meeting over the next week to determine how to handle the shortfall and to continue planning for the 2017 campaign. People can get involved in the 2017 campaign by calling the office at 920.746.9645 or emailing [email protected]
