Unity Announces Volunteer Orientation Sessions

Unity, leaders in hospice and palliative care, announces volunteer orientation sessions will be held September through November.

Volunteer opportunities exist throughout Unity’s 12-county service area in roles including being a friendly visitor to patients, transporting patients to medical appointments, cutting the hair of homebound patients (licensed hairdressers only) and using sewing talents for Unity’s creative keepsake program.

“Our volunteers help people to live every moment of life to the fullest,” says Jackie Berger, senior director of Organizational Development. “The contributions of Unity volunteers are indispensable to our successful operation as a nonprofit. All volunteers – whether involved with direct patient care or in supporting functions – benefit from knowing that every person impacted by their volunteerism is a unique individual with a lifetime of experiences, relationships and gifts to share.”

Orientation dates for new volunteers have been set for Sept. 18, Oct. 12 and Nov. 13 at Unity’s De Pere administrative office from 8 am – 4:30 pm.

Registration is required one week before orientation; call 800.990.9249 or email [email protected] to register. For more information visit unityhospice.org.
