Unity Releases Community Impact Numbers

Unity recently released 2012 community impact numbers. In 2012, nearly 10,000 lives were enriched through Unity’s services: 2,518 patients received care through palliative and hospice services and an additional 7,091 people through bereavement care.

Nearly $1.5 million in charity care was provided in the care of individuals using Unity’s services in 2012.

“With continuing declines in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and the aging baby boomer generation, Unity’s patient census and need for charity care are anticipated to continue increasing. Our accomplishments as an organization are the community’s accomplishments due to the ongoing financial support we receive to help us carry out our mission,” states Laura Jarosz, Director of Development.
