“Up Nort” Strip Gets Binded

The everyday adventures, struggles, and shenanigans of a father and his only son. It’s the stuff of memories, of Sundays, of legend. The comic strip “Up Nort” has been gracing the pages of the Peninsula Pulse for three years, and it is all about those everyday adventures. Now, for the first time anywhere, every comic strip of “Up Nort” has been collected into one book, as well as a few strips that didn’t quite make it into the paper.

It’s not your typical punch-line strip, but it is full of Door County and Northwoods humor and lore, as it attempts to document the rhythm and relationship of a boy and his dad.

“Up Nort” will also be the theme of the Olde Ellison Bay Days Parade on June 25. Author/creator Nik Garvoille will be the parade marshal and will be on hand afterwards to meet readers and sign books. An “Up Nort” float contest as well as food, arts, crafts, and fun games will run from June 24 – 26.

Up Nort: Volume One will also be available at local Door County bookstores.
