Upcoming Events At Crossroads

Crossroads at Big Creek volunteers and those who want to know more about volunteering at Crossroads are invited to the Friends of Crossroads Volunteer Mixer on Feb. 24, 5-7 pm, in the Collins Learning Center. Sandwiches and beverages will be available, and attendees are welcome to share a dish to pass. 

School-aged children, families and learners of all ages may drop in for Crossroads’ Science Saturday program Feb. 25, 1-4 pm, when there will be hands-on activities relating to the food web in the Collins Learning Center. 

Also starting at 1 pm Feb. 25 will be the final session of the Quantum Revolution lecture series, held in the Stonecipher Astronomy Center, 2200 Utah St. in Sturgeon Bay. Register at quantumrevolution.eventbrite.com.

Wild Ones of Door County is presenting a lecture on butterfly gardens Feb. 28, 6:30 pm, in the Collins Learning Center. Karen Newbern – a Wild Ones board member, master naturalist instructor, Master Gardener and the nursery manager at Door Landscape – will discuss how to create or upgrade a garden to attract butterflies.

The Junior Nature Club – a program for preschool children and their companions – will meet March 1, 10 am, for a puppet show with Nancy Hawkins. She’ll present the folktale Grandfather Bear Is Hungry in the Collins Learning Center.
