Updated Visitor Policy at Door County Medical Center

Door County Medical Center has updated its policy for visitors and support people, effective Feb. 15.
• Patients younger than 18 may have two parents or guardians present, and they must be in the patient’s room at all times.
• Emergency-department patients may have one support person who must be in the patient’s room at all times, but the care team will evaluate extenuating circumstances.
• Outpatient-services patients may have one support person who remains in the designated area at all times during an appointment, test or procedure.
• Surgical patients may have one support person who remains in the designated area at all times.
• Adult inpatients and intensive-care patients may have one designated support person per day who must stay in the patient’s room at all times.
• Obstetrical patients may have one designated support person per day who must stay in the patient’s room at all times.
• Special arrangements will be made on a case-by-case basis for patients who are nearing end of life.
• Visitors and support people will not be allowed into the skilled nursing facility at this time, but prearranged courtyard visits and compassionate-care visits are permitted.Visit dcmedical.org to read more details.
