Updates on Roadwork Schedule

Welcome to “Notes from the Grove” providing information about Liberty Grove town government to residents and visitors.

• The Economic Development Committee heard a presentation from Ken Bussard on business mentoring, business incubation and development of strategies to retain and attract businesses.

• Parks and properties has forwarded a proposal to thin out overgrown vegetation around the Ellison Bay Community Center and along Highway 42 to provide a more open, scenic view of Ellison Bay. Former supervisor Robert Tidball, assisted by Stephen Christy, made the presentation to the committee.

• Parks and property received an update from Door County Soil and Water Department on the proposed improvement of water quality and recreational quality at Sand Bay beach and Europe Bay beach. The entire cost of those projects will be covered by the county using grants.

• The recycling and shred fest was again successful. 114 Liberty Grove residents, along with 55 from Sister Bay and one from Ephraim, participated.

• The town will post updates on the roadwork scheduled for this year on the town website. Currently: Isle View pulverizing began June 18, Wildwood’s gravel is being placed and will be pulverized when Isle View is done, and Plateau’s gravel will be placed when Wildwood is done, with pulverizing to follow. Paving is scheduled to begin shortly after July 4, with Isle View first on the list.

On Garrett Bay Road, WPS will have Asplundh do their regular maintenance during July with two trucks coming in for the work.
