UU Fellowship Hosts Pianist Kate Boyd

Pianist Kate Boyd presents a piano recital on April 29, 7 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County. The program consists of works by J.S. Bach, Frédéric Chopin, and Russian composers Sergei Prokofiev and Sofia Gubaidulina.

This performance is a preview of Boyd’s upcoming Carnegie Hall performance on May 17.

Boyd is Associate Professor of Piano and Piano Area Coordinator at Butler University (Indianapolis), and in the summers serves on the faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. She has performed solo recitals at Schubert’s birth house in Vienna, the National Concert Hall in Dublin, the Musikhalle Hamburg, and many other venues. In 2009 she received a Creative Renewal Fellowship from the Arts Council of Indianapolis. She has recorded two solo CDs: Music for the End of Winter, consisting of five American premieres; and John Cage: Sonatas and Interludes, a collection from iconic American composer John Cage.
