UU Gallery Features Images by Baileys Harbor Couple

Steven and Arlene Stanger of Baileys Harbor will exhibit their photographic images at the UU Gallery in September. The community is invited to an opening reception on Sept. 1, 12 – 2 pm.

Steve has an eye for design, manipulating his camera for effects. He explains, “I enjoy capturing small, intimate sections of the subject matter I photograph. My photography generally results in an abstract rendering of the scene.”

Arlene exhibits both non-digital and digital photographs, using a simple Holga camera for the non-digital photography. Arlene explains, “The film is developed commercially and then I scan the negatives into my computer for editing and printing.” She uses a Nikon Coolpix for digital imaging and she also enjoys the capability of iPhone and its apps.

The Stangers have shown their photography in juried shows in Madison, Wis., as well as in Door County at the Peninsula School of Art, Miller Art Museum, and The Hardy Gallery. They were published in the Pulse’s Hal Grutzmacher Writer’s Expose and Photography Jubilee. For more information, visit StangerImage.com.

UU Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 – 3 pm and Sunday from 11 am – 12:30 pm. The UU Gallery is located at 10341 Highway 42, just south of the Shops at Green Gables, Ephraim. For more information visit uufdc.com.
