The UUFDC Gallery (uufdc.org), 10341 Water St. (Hwy 42) in Ephraim, is featuring experimental photography by Dan Cross as its June/July exhibit, Unveiling the Past: The Anasazi. Cross, an artist and gallery director; and his wife, Diane, opened Idea Gallery in 2017 at 6551 Cty T in West Jacksonport.
This body of work relates to the indigenous First Nation Anasazi of Chaco Canyon, New Mexico, who flourished between 200 BC and AD 1500.
βI visited Chaco 35 years ago,β Cross said. βIt was a very spiritual place. This body of work being spiritual in nature searches for the unseen, to make it visible in an imaginary way. I hope to touch the viewer in an elemental experience.β
