The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County is pleased to announce an exciting list of featured poets for the 2011-2012 season of the Dickinson Poetry Series.
The series will kick off April 13 with Norbert Blei – Door County’s best-known writer, editor, and publisher. “Obvious Doug” will follow on May 11, and feature the poems by Cathryn Cofell and music by Bruce Dethlefsen and Bill Orth.
Other featured poets will include Bruce Dethlefsen, the fourth Poet Laureate of Wisconsin, as well as June Nirschl and Judy Roy, who recently published the poetry book Slightly Off Q. Gallery owners Sarah and Al Stuart will be featured, along with Edward Dimaio, Henry Timm, Marybeth Mattson, and David Clowers. Francha Barnard, a retired librarian and the winner of the 2010 Peninsula Pulse Hal Grutzmacher Poetry Prize, will conclude the season March of 2012.
All poetry readings are held at the UU Fellowship, located at 10341 Water Street (Highway 42), on the north side of Ephraim. The readings are held at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of each month and include a featured poet for the first half of the program, followed by an open mic session.
