UUF Welcomes Katie Dahl and Rich Higdon

Katie Dahl and Rich Higdon will play a mix of original and cover songs at the UUF on Sept. 21 at 7 pm.

On Sept. 21 at 7 pm, folk singer-songwriter Katie Dahl will perform at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim. Rich Higdon, West Jacksonport’s resident bassist-percussionist and founding member of the Sheboygan-based blues band, the Water Street Hot Shots, will join Dahl.

Dahl and Higdon will play an eclectic mix of original and cover songs, accompanied by Dahl’s own trademark guitar and harmonica playing, as well as Higdon’s upright bass, spoons, and washboard playing.

Dahl’s recent accomplishments include co-writing the American Folklore Theatre play Victory Farm and performing in the Bob Dylan tribute show, “Buckets of Rain.” She has also performed with Door Shakespeare, and in 2010 was named Big Top Chautauqua Songwriter of the Year.

Admission is free, but donations in support of UUF programs will be accepted. The concert will be followed by a reception with the artists and complimentary refreshments.

The UU Fellowship is located at 10341 Highway 42 in Ephraim.
