The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC, uufdc.org) awarded the Boys and Girls Club of Door County its first quarterly donation as part of its 25th anniversary Community Support Initiative. Henk Wolst, president of the UUFDC board of directors, presented a check for $7,500 at BGCDC’s Sturgeon Bay headquarters.

UUFDC’s tradition of giving back to the community addresses four areas of critical need in Door County: child care, food insecurity, housing and mental health. Funds are awarded to local nonprofits working in each of the areas and represent combined Sunday collections for a fiscal quarter plus a match from the fellowship’s general budget, up to $2,500 per quarter.

The Door County Food Pantry Coalition will be the next beneficiary of UUFDC’s initiative.
