Vaccinate Against Flu

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), everyone six months and older should get a flu vaccine this fall.

Rhonda Kolberg, Door County Health Officer, stated: “Flu viruses are constantly changing. Each flu season, different flu viruses can spread. Getting vaccinated with the flu vaccine every season protects against the influenza viruses that research indicates will cause the most illness this season. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the flu vaccine as the first and most important step in preventing flu.” For additional information visit cdc.gov/flu.

There is a $30 fee for the vaccine for adults. For adults with Medicare, Part B covers the cost of the vaccine; individuals with Traditional Medicare are requested to bring their Medicare cards to the clinic site.

It is recommended that all children ages six months – 18 years receive flu vaccine each year. Call for an appointment, 746.2234.
