Valmy Thresheree Brings Farm Heritage to Life

The 39th Valmy Thresheree – a celebration of local farm heritage – will deliver fun for the whole family Aug. 19-21 on the grounds of the Northeastern Wisconsin Antique Power Association, 5005 Country View Road in Sturgeon Bay.

Gates will open Friday, 6 pm, to welcome attendees with food, refreshments and live music by Adam Haste and the Witch Doctors, 7-11 pm.

On Saturday, arrive early for the pancake breakfast, 7-10 am, and stay for the chainsaw competition, antique tractor pull, barn dance and polka mass. Modern Day Drifters will provide nighttime tunes, 8 pm – 12 am.

A scrambled-egg breakfast will kick off Sunday’s events at 7 am, followed by a Lutheran service. Activities will include a kids’ pedal tractor pull at 10 am, followed by a Little Farmer dress-up contest and other games, plus the champion garden tractor pull, the Cavalcade of Power and mud pig wrestling. The Crystal Creek Band will play 11 am – 3 pm.

Enter daily raffles; check out the craft market; and see lots of antique machinery and working exhibits.

No carry-ins are allowed, but food and drink will be available for purchase. Admission to the thresheree (valmythresheree.org) is $5 per day or $10 for the weekend, which includes a souvenir button. Children younger than 12 are free.
