The Sturgeon Bay Police Dept. is seeking information on a Dec. 1 incident that left a streetlight laying in a resident’s yard at North 18th Ave. and Iowa Street. Evidence showed an unknown vehicle had driven off the road and struck the light pole, causing it to break. The vehicle continued west on Iowa Street after striking the pole. In talking with neighbors, the streetlight was first found damaged at 10:30 pm on Nov. 30. Police are looking for the public’s help in locating the suspect vehicle, which should have front end damage. Police want to identify the owner of the vehicle, so they can be held accountable and pay for the replacement cost of the streetlight. The police say they will gladly accept a phone call from the driver themselves, if their conscience is bothering them. Otherwise, anyone with information on the identity of the vehicle can contact the police department at 920.746.2450.
