Veterans Adjust Memorial Day Services

The Billy Weiss American Legion Post  527 and VFW Post 8337 will not perform their customary public Memorial Day ceremonies at Little Sister Cemetery this Memorial Day, but American Legion Commander Bill Becker assures the families of deceased veterans that they will still be honored. For more than 70 years, the Billy Weiss American Legion Post 527 has honored northern Door County veterans on Memorial Day.

“We want them to know that their loved one’s service to our country is not forgotten, even during this pandemic,” Becker said. “We will be honoring them with small honor guards at each of the northern Door County cemeteries and sounding ‘Taps.’”Post 527 will travel to cemeteries from Egg Harbor to Sister Bay; Post 8337 will perform ceremonies north of Sister Bay.
