Door County Brewing Co. opened its new taproom in Baileys Harbor July 1, and our crew from Peninsula Filmworks was there to check it out.
The space features a music stage, 24 taps, huge main room and a spacious beer garden and fire pit outside. Owner John McMahon said the design pays homage to Wisconsin’s agricultural roots. Barn wood was harvested from two Luxemburg, Wis. barns. Bricks from the early 1900s were brought in from Valmy, Wis., and straw was mixed into the plaster used in the walls.
The new facility also includes much more capacity for brewing, which McMahon expects to have up and running in 2018. Door County Brewing Co. was founded in 2013 and opened its first taproom up the road in 2014.
